TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay the sum of $6,000 in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Southern California Edison Company v. City of Long Beach, Case No. 11C00283.
DISCUSSION
This suit arises out of the City of Long Beach's excavation to make repairs to the City's sewer system when it undermined plaintiff's electrical pole, causing the pole to become unstable.
After negotiations, the parties agreed to a tentative settlement agreement of $6,000.00, subject to City Council approval.
The Economic Development and Finance Committee approved the proposed settlement on January 10, 2012.
