TITLE
Recommendation to authorize agreement between the City of Long Beach and the Law Firm of Miller, Balis & O'Neil to assist the City Attorney in connection with energy issues.
DISCUSSION
The City Attorney currently has the need for attorneys specializing in federal energy issues to assist on federal energy legislation and other energy matters. The Washington D.C. law firm of Miller, Balis & O'Neil possesses this expertise and was previously retained by Long Beach Energy (now known as Long Beach Oil & Gas Department).
Expenditures under this agreement shall not exceed One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000), unless additional funds are authorized by the Board of Harbor Commissioners. All expenditures shall be paid from the Harbor Revenue Fund.
