TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on the National Organization to Insure a Sound-Controlled Environment (NOISE) Conference and Aviation Noise Symposium on September 20 - 22, 2006.
DISCUSSION
I would like to take this opportunity to report to the City Council on the National Organization to Insure a Sound -Controlled Environment (NOISE) Conference and Aviation Noise Symposium on Sep 20, 2006 through Sep 22, 2006.
This Conference addressed aviation noise issues and their effect on the community. There were speakers from the FAA, Oakland Noise Management Forum, San Francisco International Airport, and the director of Sound Insulation Services. There will also be a presentation from the Aircraft Noise Abatement Office on their new noise monitoring system.
This forum covered many topics that will benefit the City of Long Beach and ensure that the needs of our city remain foremost with the National Organization to Insure a Sound -Controlled Environment (NOISE).
