TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file the Cultural Heritage Commission Minutes of April 13, 2015, for the nomination of Richard D'Amato to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Long Beach Navy Memorial Heritage Association. (Citywide)

DISCUSSION
On April 13, 2015, the Cultural Heritage Commission voted unanimously to approve Rick D'Amato, AlA, to serve on the Board of Trustees of the Long Beach Navy Memorial Heritage Association (LBNMHA). The Cultural Heritage Commission is responsible for appointing three of the nine members to the Board of Trustees of the Association, with confirmation of their appointment by City Council. Mr. D'Amato is being appointed to fill a vacancy on the Board due to the resignation of Mr. William Wynne (Exhibit A - Navy Memorial Heritage Association Letter).

The purpose of the fund is to support the identification, evaluation, preservation, rehabilitation, restoration, and interpretation of historical resources within the municipal boundaries of the City.

The LBNMHA Board of Trustees administers the fund. Other organizations that participate in the administration of the fund include the Historical Society of Long Beach (two members), Long Beach Heritage (two members), the Wilmore City Heritage Association (two members) and the Cultural Heritage Commission (three members). The agreement stipulates that the Cultural Heritage Commission shall have three trustees that are approved by the City Council. The term is for a three-year period. The Commission, by a 7-0 vote, has approved Mr. Richard D'Amato to replace Mr. Wynne (Exhibit B - Cultural Heritage Commission Minutes of Ap...
