TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on Health and Clean Air Advocacy in Sacramento, California.

DISCUSSION
I would like to request an opportunity to address the City Council on my recent advocacy of City issues at the State of California Air Resources Board (CARB) Meeting and the National Association of Latino Elected Officials (NALEO) Conference in Sacramento, California. While my to travel to Sacramento for the Latino Health Conference was paid by NALEO, I took this
opportunity to testify before CARB to oppose the Memorandum of Understand affecting rail yards operating near the Port in West Long Beach. I believe a report regarding the City's efforts to clean our air and health issues affecting a large population of our City is timely and important for the well being of our residents. Additional information will be provided for the presentation to Council.
