TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute all necessary documents to receive and expend grant funding from the State of California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES), Coverdell 04 Program Grant, to benefit the Long Beach Forensic Laboratory; and increase appropriations in the General Grants Fund (SR) and in the Police Department (PD) by $11,435. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
The Long Beach Police Department was recently awarded grant funding from the State
of California Governor's Off ice of Emergency Services, Coverdell Forensic Sciences
Improvement Program, in the amount of $11,435. The grant monies will be used to
improve the quality, timeliness and credibility of current forensic science services by
allowing forensic staff to receive training and materials to keep skill-sets current.
