DISCUSSION
The Long Beach Police Department was recently awarded grant funding from the State
of California Governor's Off ice of Emergency Services, Coverdell Forensic Sciences
Improvement Program, in the amount of $11,435. The grant monies will be used to
improve the quality, timeliness and credibility of current forensic science services by
allowing forensic staff to receive training and materials to keep skill-sets current.
