TITLE

Recommendation to City Council to concur in recommendation of the Federal Legislation Committee to support the Aquarium of the Pacific in seeking federal funds to fully implement its mission of "instilling a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems."

DISCUSSION

The Federal Legislation Committee, at its September 24, 2007 meeting, approved a recommendation to support the Aquarium of the Pacific in seeking federal funds to fully implement its mission of "instilling a sense of wonder, respect, and stewardship for the Pacific Ocean, its inhabitants, and ecosystems."

It is the recommendation of the Federal Legislation Committee that the City Council consider this request.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
