TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to enter into an agreement with the State of California Office of Emergency Services for the temporary transfer of a Type VI fire engine and related equipment. (Citywide)

As a result of the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Commission of the 2003 Fire Siege, the State of California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (State), Fire and Rescue Division, purchased 79 Type VI fire engines for use by local fire departments throughout California. This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Arturo D. Sanchez on July 30, 2021 and by Budget Analysis Officer Greg Sorensen on July 29, 2021.

City Council action is requested on August 17, 2021, to expedite transfer of the equipment from the State.
