TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager to amend contract with K&H Integrated Print Solutions for mailing services and printing of official ballots, sample ballots and vote by mail materials in the increased amount not to exceed $306,692.57 for the April 8, 2014 Primary Nominating Election (PNE) and the June 3, 2014 General Municipal Election (GME).

DISCUSSION
The cost of services provided for the PNE and GME exceeded the original contract amount due to the unforeseen increase in the number of voter registrations, postage fees and the addition of Measure A. There was an 18 percent increase in voter registrations for the 2014 Elections versus the 2012 Elections.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
Approval of this action is necessary so that payment for services rendered can be made pursuant to the contract requirements of the City Charter.

FISCAL IMPACT
An appropriations increase in the General Fund (GP) in the Office of the City Clerk is requested in amount of $82,000 to offset the excess cost of the 2014 Elections. This request is offset by existing fund balance.

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
LARRY HERRERA
CITY CLERK
