A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Long Beach certifying the results of the Primary Nominating Election held in the City of Long Beach, California, on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, for the purpose of electing Governing Board Members for Long Beach Unified School District Areas 2 and 4

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
Municipal Code 1.21.010 requires that the City Clerk shall certify the results to the City Council within twenty-one (21) days after the date of the election. The City Clerk signed the certificate of canvass on April 28, 2008.

To complete the certification process the City Council is required to adopt a resolution reciting the fact of the election and the statement of the result as provided in section 10264 of the California Elections Code.

FISCAL IMPACT
A budget adjustment will be applied during the third quarter FY 08 for expenses relating to the April 8, 2008, Primary Nominating Election.
