DISCUSSION
The North Pine Neighborhood is the home to Lutheran Social Services (LSS) of Southern California and they are helping to create a joyful holiday for all this December with an annual toy drive. Within the context of more intentional case management, LSS operates over 50 specialized programs, offering resources to people in need. These programs range from aging and disabled supportive services, resources for veterans, transitional and permanent affordable housing, job training and financial literacy, behavioral health services, youth mentoring and academic success, refugee and immigrant services, family services of all types, disaster preparedness and response, and many others.

This holiday toy drive is one more wonderful event that this great organization will be hosting in the First District and one we are proud to support.

Due to the urgency of this item, no financial impact was available.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
With only a single meeting happening in December, this item to support the Lutheran Social Services Toy Drive taking place in late December 2021 must be added to the December 7, 2021 agenda.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation provides District Priority Funds to support the Lutheran Social Services Toy Drive in the First Council District. The appropriation increase of $500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager's Department, will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the First Council District One-Time Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywi...
