TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,500, offset by the First Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to support the Khalo Design, Long Beach International Tamales Festival; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $2,500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION
Long Beach is happy to announce the first ever Long Beach International Tamales Festival 2021. This all-day holiday inspired fair features tamales from different regions of Latin America, Latin inspired dishes, drinks, live music, art workshops for kids, performances, best homemade tamales contest, shopping and more!

This event has been advertised all over southern California and will be adding a wonderful event to the First District in partnership with the Scottish Rite Temple.

Due to the urgency of this item, no financial impact was available.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
With only a single meeting happening in December, this item to support the Long Beach Tamales Festival taking place on December 5, 2021 must be added to the December 7, 2021 agenda.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation provides District Priority Funds to support the Long Beach International Tamales Festival in the First Council District. The appropriation increase of $2,500 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager's Department, will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the First Council District One-Time Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.
