TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit two Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay 1) $7,830, and also 2) separate authority to pay $58,290 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Frederick Towns.

DISCUSSION

Frederick Towns has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on August 20, 2019, approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of two Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Frederick Towns, based upon 1) a 9 percent disability rating, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and 2) a 40 percent disability rating, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.

Approve recommendation.
