TITLE
Recommendation to adopt resolution declaring results of the Special Municipal Election held November 6, 2012, relative to City Measure N and Measure O.
DISCUSSION
Attached is the Resolution prepared by the City Attorney pertaining to the results of the Special Municipal Election held on Tuesday, November 6,2012.
As certified by the Los Angeles County Registrar Recorder/County Clerk, the results are as follows:
Measure YES NO
N - Minimum Wage for 88,587 (64.32%) 59,148 (45.69%)
Hotel Workers
O - Change of Election 49,150 (35.68%) 70,295 (54.31 %)
Dates
With passage of Measure N, its provisions become operative on December 21, 2012, ten (10) days after adoption of the attached resolution by the City Council (See Exhibit A). The Registrar Recorder's Certification/Statement of Vote is attached as Exhibit B.
FISCAL IMPACT
The estimated cost to the General Fund for placement of Measures Nand 0 on the November 6 ballot is $471,000. (Exhibit C).
