DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Granicus, LLC, formerly known as Host Compliance, LLC, for the provision of software to assist with administration of the Short-Term Rental (STR) Program.

On June 16, 2020, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. ORD-20-0024 (Ordinance) to establish regulations, standards, and a registration process for STRs. The Department of Development Services (Department) conducted a Request for Proposals (RFP) to identify a mechanism for administration of the Ordinance’s regulations through address identification and data reporting, compliance monitoring, enforcement, and tax collection support.

The RFP was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on January 10, 2020, and 17 potential proposers specializing in data reporting and compliance monitoring were notified of the RFP opportunity. Of those proposers, 14 downloaded the RFP via the City’s electronic bid system. The RFP document was made available by the Purchasing Division, located on the sixth floor of City Hall, and on the Division’s website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing .
