DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with the Earl Corporation for the installation and with Myrtha Pools USA for the purchase of the Belmont Temporary Outdoor Pool.

In January 2013, the City's Belmont Pool Natatorium was closed due to a structural and seismic evaluation that concluded the facility was seismically unsafe in the event of a moderate earthquake. On February 12, 2013, the City Council authorized the City Manager to proceed with the entitlement phase of a permanent pool revitalization project, and proceed with the installation of a temporary outdoor pool to meet the needs of the City's aquatic community during the reconstruction of the new permanent pool. Additionally, City Council directed staff to expedite the design, procurement and construction of the temporary outdoor pool with incentives for early completion. The Invitation to Bid specifications included a timeline for completion by October 31, 2013.
