TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on attendance at the California Contract Cities Association Conference on May 29 - June 1, 2008 in Indian Wells, CA.

DISCUSSION
On May 29 - June 1, 2008 I attended the California Contract Cities Association's 49th Annual Municipal Seminar in Indian Wells, CA: "Taking the Green Path: Practical Steps Cities Can Take To Protect The Environment."

The California Contract Cities Association is comprised of member cities that contract for major municipal services on an as needed basis, such as police services, fire services, animal control, public works, and/or building and safety.

I found the conference to be very informative regarding measures cities can make towards conserving the environment. Topics included water conservation measures, greening trash collection, and approaches to reducing storm water pollution.

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve recommendation.

Respectfully Submitted,
