TITLE

DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to accept and expend up to $300,000 from the Pacific Gateway Workforce Partnership, Inc., to manage overall project implementation, including communications, activities and fiscal management as part of the Prologis Community Workforce Initiative (CWI) - Phase II project.

The City of Long Beach (City), through the Pacific Gateway Workforce Innovation Network (Pacific Gateway), partnered with the Pacific Gateway Workforce Partnership, Inc., the non-profit organization, to administer the Prologis Community Workforce Initiative in partnership with Jobs For the Future (JFF). Through this initiative, Pacific Gateway will engage in a range of activities to provide training, coaching, and job placement in the transportation, distribution and logistics industry in support of the project. The activities include:
· Learning Platform Review and Administer Training;
· Regional Mobilization Campaigns and Learner Engagement;
· Completion Support;
· Job Placement;
· Prologis Customer Connections;
· Technical Assistance; and
· Reporting and Data Collection.

Pacific Gateway administers the Federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other employment and training funds received annually by the City.
