TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on the 2006 LULAC National  Convention on June 26, 2006 through July 1, 2006 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

DISCUSSION
I would like to take this opportunity to report to the City Council on the LULAC
National Convention on June 26, 2006 through July 1 , 2006.
This convention focused on Diversity, Partnership, and Unity. During this conference
members of law enforcement, outstanding educators, and the armed forces were
honored. The National Assembly met and held their elections. There were workshops
on the Health Initiative, Strengthening Councils and Leadership Training, Public
Policy, and the Voting Rights Act. There was also an additional workshop on
Immigration Issues.
All issues covered in this forum were of benefit to the City of Long Beach and will
ensure that the needs of our city remain foremost with LULAC.
