TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit claim for death benefits for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $145,000 for claim of Willis Kuhlmann in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for decedent.

DISCUSSION

Willis Kuhlmann, by and through his widow, Mrs. Kuhlmann, and Mr.

Kuhlmann's daughter, Robin Kuhlmann have made a claim for death benefits

allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach.

The Economic Development and Finance Committee on January 3, 2006,

approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of

Stipulations with Request for Award for death benefits by the City and Willis

Kuhlmann on behalf of his widow, and dependent.
