DISCUSSION
Long Beach City College has requested a formal agreement with the City of Long Beach to provide supplement law enforcement services at Veterans Stadium. These services consist of providing security during football games and graduation ceremonies. The services will be provided by Police Officers on an overtime basis and scheduled through the Police Department's special events staff. The agreement would be retroactive to July 1, 2005 to cover expenses already incurred by Long Beach City College for the Fall 2005 football season and the June 2006 graduation. This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Richard Anthony on July 27, 2006 and Budget Management Officer David Wodynski on July 28,2006.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
The proposed contract is retroactive to July I, 2005. City Council action on this matter is recommended at the August 8, 2006, City Council meeting.

FISCAL IMPACT
The annual reimbursement from long Beach City College will be approximately $37,900. The five-year contract will total approximately $189,500. There is no net cost to the General Fund (GP) as a result of this agreement.
