TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $131,215 with a life pension thereafter of $100.50 for the claim of Michael Garner, in compliance with the Appeals Board Order.
DISCUSSION
Michael Garner has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on June 10, 2008, approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Michael Garner, based upon 86 percent disability rating with further provision for a life pension at the rate of $100.50 per week after the permanent disability has been paid, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.
