TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to accept an easement deed to provide for widening of the sidewalk at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Tenth Street adjacent to 940 Long Beach Boulevard.
(District 1)

DISCUSSION
It is the goal of the Department of Public Works to widen our public streets and alleys to the standards established in the City's General Plan. When significant new development is proposed, public rights-of-way adjacent to the site are reviewed for
sufficiency to accommodate the new development. For the construction of a Blockbuster Video Store at 940 Long Beach Boulevard, the dedication of additional sidewalk width is recommended. In particular, the dedication of a 5-foot by 5-foot
corner cut-off to provide ADA access along the street frontage of the site is recommended. The proposed dedication is shown on the attached Exhibit A. Cal-Asia Property Development Company, the developer of the subject property, agreed to development conditions that include the above-described dedication. This
matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Lisa Peskay Malmsten on January 3, 2005. In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Categorical Exemption No. CEP 235-04 was issued for this project.
