TITLE
Recommendation to request City Manager, or designee, to accept an easement deed for sidewalk widening at 1328 Canal Avenue.
(District 1)

DISCUSSION
Cowelco Properties located at 1634 W. Fourteenth Street, has acquired land from the City of Long Beach Redevelopment Agency for a new parking lot at 1328 Canal Street, which they are in the process of improving. As a part of that improvement, landscaping, a driveway and a new curb ramp will be installed. The construction of an appropriatelydimensioned curb ramp necessitates additional sidewalk right-of-way. In order to accommodate the curb ramp, it is recommended that a six-foot by sixteen-foot corner cut be dedicated to and accepted by the City of Long Beach as shown on the attachment.

In conformance with the California Environmental Quality Act, Categorical Exemption No. CE 38-09 was issued for this project.

This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Linda Trang on November 10, 2009 and Budget and Performance Management Bureau Manager David Wodynski on December 17,2009.
