TITLE
Recommendation to request City Manager to report on City infrastructure repair efforts within 30 days.

DISCUSSION
In light of the recent storms and its damage to our roads, sidewalks and alleys, I
would like to request the City Manager to update the Council on the status of our
infrastructu re re pairs citywide .

As a result of this year's record rainfall, it appears that the infrastructure in our
neighborhoods continues to deteriorate with funds scarcely available to keep our
public streets and walkways pothole and damage free.

While there have been thousands of new feet of sidewalk installed, perhaps the
time has come to review our sidewalk repair policy district by district and allow
more flexibility to deal with some crumbling streets and alleys.

This report should also detail our efforts in acquiring emergency grants and
funding from LA County, the State and Federal Government. It can also serve as
an important update and timetable for current and future infrastructure projects.
