TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file report on attendance at the Independent Cities Association Annual Seminar in San Diego, CA.
DISCUSSION
On July 13-16, 2006, I traveled to San Diego in order to attend the Independent Cities Association Annual Seminar. I along with other elected officials and staff from cities in Southern California that provide their own police and/or fire services met to discuss issues of common concern and interest. The annual event is also an opportunity for advocacy and education. By attending training classes and seminars and by exchanging ideas and suggestions we can learn from each other and come together in support for programs and initiatives to assist the cities' efforts.
