TITLE
Recommendation to discuss modifying regulations related to Transportation Network Companies.
DISCUSSION
The Economic Development and Finance Committee (ED&F Committee) is comprised of the following members: Councilwoman Stacy Mungo, Chair; Councilwoman Suzie A. Price, Vice Chair; and Councilmember Roberto Uranga, Member.
On December 19, 2014, the ED&F Committee requested that City staff review the City's current regulations regarding taxicabs, existing business models and public policy related to transportation network Companies (TNCs), and offer a comparative analysis of the economic parity issues between the two transportation models.
During its meeting held February 27, 2015, the ED&F Committee considered a report on taxicabs and TNCs as presented by City staff in accordance with the aforementioned request.
A substitution motion was made by Vice Chair Price, seconded by Chair Mungo, to approve the recommendation to refer to the City Council the agenda item, file #15-0155, for discussion on modifying taxicab regulations. The motion carried unanimously.

There is no fiscal impact.
