TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Services Fund (IS 385) in the Technology and Innovation Department (TI) by $24,724 offset by the First Council District one-time infrastructure funds transferred from the Capital Projects Fund (CP) in the Public Works Department (PW) to support the purchase of two outward facing security cameras to be installed at Washington Middle School in the First Council District.

DISCUSSION

The First Council District would like to allocate $24,724 of one-time infrastructure funds to the Department of Technology and Innovation (TI) for the purchase of two city-owned security cameras to be installed at Washington Middle School.  The cameras will be used to increase public safety in the Washington neighborhood. Authorization to enter into an agreement with Long Beach Unified School District related to these cameras will return to City Council for approval in the future.

FISCAL IMPACT

The total appropriation increase of $24,724 in the General Services Fund (IS 385) in the Technology and Innovation Department (TI) is offset by a transfer of one-time infrastructure funds from the Capital Projects Fund (CP) in the Public Works Department (PW).

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
