TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in Fiscal Year 2017 in the General Fund (GF) in the Legislative Department by $23,087, offset by the Second Council District one-time infrastructure funds transferred from the Capital Projects Fund (CP) in the Public Works Department to fund community events, meetings, event sponsorships, and trainings in the Second Council District; and
Increase appropriations in Fiscal Year 2017 in the General Fund (GF) in the Legislative Department by $1,526, offset by revenue from Councilmember Pearce's Office Holder Account to fund staff training and community events.
DISCUSSION
In accordance with the City's "Procedures for Implementation of Divide by Nine Funding", the Second Council District is respectfully requesting that $23,087 of its one-time infrastructure funds be moved to its Fiscal Year 2017 office budget. The amount specified will cover the cost for community and neighborhood events, meetings and/or outreach, event sponsorships, and trainings related to these efforts in compliance with the provisions in the City Charter and Long Beach Municipal Code and for an established public purpose.
Additionally, revenue from Councilmember Pearce's Office Holder Account in the amount of $1,526 was received to cover the cost of staff trainings and community events in Fiscal Year 2017.
FISCAL IMPACT
The total appropriation increase in Fiscal Year 2017 of $24,613 in the General Fund (GF) in the Legislative Department is offset by a $23,087 transfer of the Second District one-time infrastructure funds from the Capital Projects Fund (CP) in the Public Works Department (PW) and $1,526 from Councilmember Pearce's Office Holder Account.
