TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute a First Amendment to Agreement No. 28496 with Edward D. Stone, Jr., & Associates (EDSA) adding an amount not to exceed $500,000 for additional engineering services at Ed "Pops" Davenport Park, formerly referred to as the 55th Way Neighborhood Park Project.  (District 9)

DISCUSSION
On July 22, 2003, the City Council authorized a three-year agreement with
Edward D. Stone, Jr., & Associates (EDSA) in the amount of $600,000 to provide as-needed landscape architectural services on a Citywide basis (see
attachment). Those services include, but are not limited to, providing site
evaluations and analysis, conceptual and schematic design services, design
development drawings, construction documents and specifications, grading and drainage plans, planting and irrigation design, park facility design, public
swimming pool design and on-site construction observation. To date, EDSA's work has been almost entirely devoted to work on the Ed "Pops" Davenport Park project (Davenport Park) formerly known as the 55" Way Neighborhood Park project. Because of the uncertain nature of the landfill closure aspect of the Davenport Park project, EDSA will be required to provide additional construction support services before construction can begin on the actual park facilities. While the above project is fully funded, additional contract authority is required for EDSA to perform these tasks.
This matter was reviewed by Senior Deputy City Attorney Donna F. Gwin on July 21,2005 and by Budget Management Officer David Wodynski on July 25,2005.
