TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Requests for Awards for approval by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay (1) $27,900 and
(2) separate authority to pay $25,932.50 for the claim of Cecelia Aguirre; authority to pay (1) $5,030.14 and (2) separate authority to pay $63,977.79 for the claim of Karen Merritt; and authority to pay
(1) $258,087.87 and (2) to pay $270.57 per week for a life pension thereafter, subject to cost of living increases in accordance with state adjustments for the claim of Ronald Quarn, in compliance with Appeals Board Order.
DISCUSSION
Cecelia Aguirre has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of her employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on May 7, 2013, approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of two Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Cecelia Aguirre based upon a 29 percent disability rating with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and 2) a 27 percent disability rating with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.

Ronald Quarn has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach. The Economic Development and Finance Committee on May 7, 2013, approved the submission to the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Ronald Quarn, based upon a 95 percent disability rating, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.
