TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Manager to execute a first amendment to Agreement No. 28837 with Heery International, Inc., and to extend the term of agreement through April 30, 2008; and
Authorize City Manager to execute subsequent amendments to the agreement to extend the term, authorize additional services, if required, within the provisions of the agreement, and adjust the fee schedule of hourly rates for inflation. (Citywide)
DISCUSSION
On May 11, 2004, the City Council authorized a three-year agreement with Heery International, Inc. (formerly JCM Facilities Planning and Management), in the amount of $1,000,000 to provide as-needed planning and relocation services (Attachment).
Various Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects throughout the City have benefited from these as-needed planning and relocation services, which include: assisting City staff with the relocation of personnel, furniture, fixtures and equipment; coordinating engineering services, such as electrical and layout drawings to facilitate relocations in a timely manner, and coordinating logistics and timing with vendors. These services helped alleviate staff workload while ensuring that important projects were not delayed due to lack of availability of administrative resources.
In order to avoid any delays on current planning and relocation projects, it is requested that the current agreement with Heery International, Inc., be extended through April 30, 2008.
This matter was reviewed by Deputy City Attorney Lori A. Conway and Performance Management and Budget Bureau Manager David Wodynski on April 11 ,2007.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
Implementation of this agreement will allow current projects to continue without incurring delays.
FISCAL IMPACT
No appropriation increase is required. Sufficient funds to support these services are budgeted in various capital improvement projects in the Department of Public Works (PW).
