TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $1,000, offset by the First Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a donation to the California Families in Focus to support the I Matter 2 Youth Fashion Show and Music Concert; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,000 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
The California Families in Focus has a long history of serving the community by providing positive, innovative events and social service programs for youth and their families to achieve empowerment. One event that seeks to continue that tradition, help bring community together, while raising funds, will be the I Matter 2 Youth Fashion Show and Music Concert. The annual event was created by survivors of suicide and bullying to shed light on these two serious mental health issues. Youth will be able to showcase their talents through singing, art, and music as a fun way to not only offer resources but to encourage awareness for said issues. This donation is to help offset some of the costs associated with the event and further support the mission of the California Families in Focus.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to California Families in Focus to support the I Matter 2 Youth Fashion Show and Music Concert. The appropriation increase of $1,000 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager's Department, will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the First Council District One-Time Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have a minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.
