Recommendation to request the City Council to receive and file a presentation on the 2023 Coastal Country Jam.
DISCUSSION
On September 16-17, 2023, at Marina Green Park, Southern California’s premiere country music festival, Coastal Country Jam 2023, was held in the First District. This event featured performances from many popular country music artists such as the festival headliners Blake Shelton and Tim McGraw. In addition, 10 other country music artists performed throughout the weekend, with a special performance from artist Gwen Stefani on night one. Along with all of the music performances, Country Coastal Jam 2023 featured many additional amenities for attendees, such as line dancing, art installations, amusement rides, as well as many food and beverage options. Coastal Country Jam 2023 was a successful event which had thousands of attendees and provided a great music festival resulting in increased tourism and revenue to our City.
As Chair of the Arts, Culture, and Tourism Committee I understand the important role that events have in Long Beach. Coastal Country Jam 2023 is a great example of an event that brought people from far and near to eat, sleep, and experience Long Beach. To continue to be a popular destination for music festivals and help our City grow, it is important that we recognize events such as Coastal Country Jam. It is also important we continue to be good partners with event organizers and make it as easy as possible to do business in the City of Long Beach. This item helps foster those relationships by presenting on the event and its many positive impacts.

The recommendation to receive and file the presentation in recognition of Coastal Country Jam 2023 has no fiscal or local job impact.
