DISCUSSION
Taxiway G east of Runway 12-30 at the Long Beach Airport was last rehabilitated in 1994. The pavement is currently nearing the end of its useful life. Within the last 12 months, maintenance has increased and the existing pavement condition is showing that emergency repairs will be necessary to maintain the taxiway’s use.

The project includes reconstruction of taxiway pavement and shoulders, and the installation of new edge lighting, guidance signs, in-pavement guard lights at the intersection of the taxiway with Runway 12-30, pavement markings, and drainage improvements, including the installation of a catch basin and the grading of the adjacent infield areas.

City Council adoption of the plans and specifications and award of the contract are being recommended concurrently to expedite implementation of this project.
