TITLE
Recommendation to receive and file the 2003-04 annual report for the Long Beach Airport Advisory Commission. (District 5)
DISCUSSION
In accordance with Municipal Code Section 2.18.090, the 2UU3/U4 Annual Keport tor the Long Beach Airport Advisory Commission is attached for City Council review. Ron Salk, Commission Chair for the year ending in July 2004, and current Chair Alan Fox, report that the Commission has had a very engaging and busy agenda, including the review of the Boeing "Douglas Park" development proposal, and review and recommendations regarding the City Council's referral item on Terminal facilities, related EIR scope, and other citywide studies. Although the Commission's annual report typically is filed in the fall of each year, this year it was delayed until completion of their primary focus for the year, the Terminal facilities referral. As such, this annual report covers the period July of 2003 through December of 2004.
The report recommends continuation of the Commission, including the on-going and significant involvement in community education/outreach and Terminal facilities planning.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Council action on March 8, 2005 is requested.
