DISCUSSION
Councilwoman Megan Kerr would like to support the Long Beach Juneteenth Celebration on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Rainbow Lagoon Park. This annual event recognizes June 19th, 1865, an important date in American history, and is a time to celebrate African American achievements and contributions. The significance of Juneteenth today extends beyond the African American community. It serves as an educational and cultural touchstone for all Americans to learn about the past and its implications on the present. It brings together people of all races, nationalities, and religions to acknowledge a period in our history that has shaped and continues to influence our society. By contributing to the success of this free community event, we can collectively foster a more informed, diverse, and unified community, which aligns with our city’s mission to promote cultural awareness, diversity, and inclusion within our community.

Councilwoman Megan Kerr would like to support the 12th annual Uptown Jazz Festival on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Houghton Park.
