DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into a contract with Consolidated Electrical Distributors, Inc., dba All Phase Electric Supply Co and Walters Wholesale Electric for furnishing and delivering as-needed electrical supplies on a citywide basis.

This request is for as-needed electrical supplies as part of the ongoing operating expense for facilities maintenance. The contracts combine the estimated requirements citywide to secure pricing at the highest volume discounts available, based on historical citywide needs and expenditures. Awarding multiple contracts allows the City of Long Beach (City) to purchase supplies at the lowest price per item or item group and provides alternative sourcing for items that may not be adequately stocked by a single vendor.

The bid was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on November 4, 2022, and 10 potential bidders specializing in electrical supplies were notified of the bid opportunity. Of those potential bidders, 10 downloaded the bid via the City’s electronic bid system. The bid document was made available from the Purchasing Division, located on the sixth floor of City Hall, and the Division’s website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing
