DISCUSSION

Partners of Parks is a non-profit, public benefit organization that supports parks, recreation, marine programs, and facilities in the City of Long Beach.  On August 2, 2023, Partners of Parks will be hosting the annual Long Beach Charity ProAm event at the El Dorado Golf Course in the Fourth Council District. A contribution to support this event will help Partners of Parks augment their program support in areas such as recreation classes and camps including swimming lessons, community-wide concerts, and Animal Care Services.

TIMING CONSIDERATIONS

[Timing Considerations]

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a contribution to Partners of Parks to support their Long Beach Charity ProAm event. The total appropriation increase of $200 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease in appropriation of the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds in the General Fund in the Citywide Activities Department. This recommendation is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION
