TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $95,000, in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Tami Donald v. City of Long Beach, Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. 20STCV18966.
DISCUSSION
Plaintiff alleges that while crossing the street in front of her home, she slipped on a proliferation of palm fruit that had dropped from the palm trees onto the street in front of her home suffering injury to her right knee that required surgical repair. Plaintiff sues the City alleging a dangerous condition of public property.
Following extensive negotiations, Plaintiff agreed to accept $95,000.00, inclusive of costs and fees, as a full and final settlement of this case.
The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Government Operations and Efficiency Committee (Attorney/Client) on April 18,
