TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $2,500, offset by the Seventh Council District One-time District Priority Funds, transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to United Cambodian Community (UCC) to support Long Beach Sankranta 2023 on April 1, 2023; and

 

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group by $2,500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

 

DISCUSSION

The United Cambodian Community (UCC) in collaboration with Long Beach City College and the Council District 6 Office, is hosting Long Beach Sankranta 2023 on April 1, 2023 at Long Beach City College’s Pacific Coast Campus. Sankranta is the new year celebration that is observed in Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and some parts of India. Long Beach Sankranta 2023 serves to honor and recognize our city’s diverse communities that celebrates Sankranta.

 

Councilmember Roberto Uranga would like to support this important event.

This urgent item is being submitted through supplemental agenda to allow for timely funds processing.

 

FISCAL IMPACT

No Financial Management review was able to be conducted due to the urgency and time sensitivity of this item.
