TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department in the amount of $4,000, offset by the Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department to provide supplemental funding for pickleball court restriping at El Dorado Tennis Center; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $4,000 to offset a transfer to the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department.

DISCUSSION

Given the increased demand for pickleball courts throughout the city, the El Dorado Park Tennis Center has made accommodations within its regular programming to allow for patrons to play pickleball at the site. In order to maximize the venue, restriping of the tennis courts for dual use is required. The total cost to restripe the tennis center with eight pickleball courts is $4,000. These courts will be open to the public and the community at-large.

Due to the urgency of this item, no fiscal analysis was conducted

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation provides One-time District Priority Funds to provide supplemental funding for pickleball court restriping at El Dorado Tennis Center. The total appropriation increase of $4,000 in the Parks, Recreation and Marine Department will be offset by a transfer of Fourth Council District One-time District Priority Funds from the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
