DISCUSSION
City Council approval is requested to enter into contracts with Oracle Investigations Group, LLC, Hall Investigations, Palicon Group, and Prestigious Investigative Services, Inc., for providing as-needed pre-employment background investigation services to support the hiring process for City of Long Beach (City) employees. Background services are utilized for the Police Academy, Fire Academy, Ambulance Operator Academies, emergency dispatchers, and other City departments. The Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) will perform investigations in conjunction with other City departments.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) was advertised in the Long Beach Press-Telegram on May 5, 2022, and 343 potential proposers specializing in pre-employment background investigation services were notified of the RFP opportunity. Of those proposers, 36 downloaded the RFP via the City’s electronic bid system. The RFP document was made available from the Purchasing Division, located on the sixth floor of City Hall, and the Division’s website at www.longbeach.gov/purchasing .
