TITLE

1) The Salvation Army Long Beach Red Shield, in the amount of
$500, in support of the annual holiday fundraiser;
2) American Association of University Women Long Beach, in the
amount of $500, for 50th Anniversary of Title IX Event;
3) Belmont Shore Business Association, in the amount of $450, in
support of the annual Christmas Parade; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $1,450 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION
Councilwoman Stacy Mungo Flanigan would like to support the following annual events and community programming:
· Salvation Army Long Beach Red Shield: Contribution to the Annual Red Kettle Christmas Dinner on Thursday, December 1, 2022. All proceeds from this fundraising dinner go toward Red Shield Marketplace food bank and social services to help with Christmas needs and needs for low-income and no-income individuals and families throughout the year.
· American Association of University Women Long Beach: Contribution to the 50th Anniversary of Title IX celebration event honoring our city of champions through the success of Title IX at Billie Jean King Tennis Center in March 2023.
· Belmont Shore Business Association: 39th Annual Christmas Parade on December 3, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide contributions of $500 to The Salvation Army Long Beach Red Shield, $500 to American Association of University Women Long Beach, and $450 to Belmont Shore Business Association, to support their events and programs as written above.
