TITLE
Recommendation to request City Manager to review a proposal to consider a veterans annual vehicle parking pass discount at El Dorado Regional Park.
DISCUSSION
Currently, El Dorado Regional Park has vehicle entry fees to support the operations and usage of the park. Within the City Council-approved fee schedule (Exhibit A) there are various categories for daily and annual pass fees. Based on the day of the week and/or the size of the vehicle, the fee payable to the city is determined.
To promote inclusivity and accessibility, the consideration to include a veteran annual vehicle parking pass discount is recommended. The annual parking passes at El Dorado are already available at a discounted rate for seniors and/or disabled residents, but not for veterans. This recommendation is being sought to be implemented by Veterans Day, November 11, 2022, and would assist in promoting the usage of our city’s green space.
This matter has been reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on October 20, 2022.
FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to review a proposal for a veterans annual vehicle parking pass discount at El Dorado Regional Park. The cost for this is unknown at this time. The requested action will have a minimal impact on staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and have a minimal impact on existing city council priorities.
