TITLE
Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to pay sum of $150,000, in full settlement of lawsuit entitled Federico Montoya, et al. v. City of Long Beach, et al., Los Angeles Superior Court Case No. 20STCV10294.
DISCUSSION
Plaintiffs allege they were injured as a result of an auto accident with a Long Beach Water Department employee on May 22, 2019.
Following extensive negotiations, Plaintiffs agreed to accept $150,000 - inclusive of costs and fees - as a full, global settlement of this case.
The settlement was discussed in closed session, and approved, by the Government, Personnel and Elections Oversight Committee (Attorney/Client) on October 18, 2022.
