TITLE

Recommendation to authorize City Attorney to submit Stipulations with Request for Award for approval by the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board, and if so approved, authority to pay $148,842.50 for Stipulations with Request for Award with a life pension thereafter of $115.96 subject to COLA increases per week in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for Mark Hansen.

DISCUSSION

Mark Hansen has made a claim for injuries allegedly sustained in the course of his employment with the City of Long Beach.  The Government and Personnel Attorney-Client Committee on August 16, 2022, approved the submission to the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board of Stipulations with Request for Award by the City and Mark Hansen, based upon a 75 percent disability rating with further provision for a life pension at the rate of $115.96 subject to COLA increases per week after the permanent disability has been paid, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary.

Approve recommendation.
