TITLE
Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $4,850, offset by the Third Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to Special Events and Filming for a community concert scheduled for August 27, 2022; and
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $4,850 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.
DISCUSSION
Community concerts have become a staple of both spring and summer in Long Beach. As we have seen countless restrictions applied to community events and gatherings over the past two years, the opportunity to host a community concert in our fantastic Long Beach Parks is an important way for residents to enjoy our city in a positive community focused way. The benefits community concerts have by creating an event for families, friends, and neighbors to spend time together, is an important part of community development and building neighborhoods. With these clear City priorities in mind, it is appropriate for the City to support this event.

As this concert is scheduled for August 27, 2022 funding is sought prior to the event.
