TITLE

Recommendation to increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $250, offset by the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to the Long Beach Unified School District for the Woodrow Wilson High School Senior Celebration 2022; and

Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $250 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

DISCUSSION

INTRODUCTION: As Wilson High School Seniors prepare for graduation after a particularly difficult year during COVID-19, it is important to celebrate their accomplishment and recognize the incredible work they have done this past year under extraordinary circumstances.

This matter was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on May 13, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT

This recommendation requests the City Manager Department to provide a contribution to the Long Beach Unified School District for the Woodrow Wilson High School Senior Celebration 2022. The total appropriation increase of $250 in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department will be offset by a decrease of appropriation of the Third Council District One-Time District Priority Funds in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department.  The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities. There is no local job impact associated with the recommendation.

SUGGESTED ACTION

Approve recommendation.
