DISCUSSION
Since 2006 LAWineFest has provided a fun and relaxed environment where individuals can experience wines and brews from around the world. Starting in 2019, LAWineFest began hosting their festival in Long Beach at The Pike Outlets and more recently Harry Bridges Memorial Park. These festivals drew thousands of attendees to the downtown area and introduced them to the beauty of Long Beach.

This year LAWineFest 2022 will occur on June 4 and June 5, 2022 at Harry Bridges Memorial Park. Here, attendees will be able to enjoy tastings from multiple wine and beer producers against the backdrop of the Queen Mary and the Downtown Long Beach skyline, as well as the beautiful weather that the Long Beach coast provides. LAWineFest has successfully presented the benefits of Long Beach to both residents inside and outside of Long Beach and has additionally provided a fun event for residents of Long Beach. It is appropriate for the City Council to support the LAWineFest2022.

STATEMENT OF URGENCY:
Funding is sought as soon as possible for the event which will be held on June 4 and June 5, 2022.
